(Seventh Grade)
This class is in their final year of elementary Hebrew education. While reviewing ALL the subjects previously taught, these students are encouraged to delve deeper into why and how we live as Jews. They spend half the year learning about the Holocaust from a historical and ethical perspective. This prepares them for the same studies in public school in 8th grade. The second half of the year is spent learning about the State of Israel, how and why it came to be and what it is like today. Four times over the course of the school year, parents and students meet with the Rabbi, the Educational Director and several members of the faculty in preparation for Bar/Bat Mitzvah. A research project is expected from each students as well as a mitzvah project that relates to his/her Bar/Bat Mitzvah portion.
