SISTERHOOD E-NEWSLETTER-January, 2010

Sisterhood provides enlightening programs for our community. Did you know that Sisterhood donated the food for the concession at our Bazaar which helped raise funds for our Synagogue? In addition, Sisterhood continues to provide the funding for B’nai’s Jewish Art, Music & Movement Class (JaMM) for children 3 & 4 years old. (For more information about JaMM, call 764-8381.)

Volunteers are needed for the Packaging of “Purim Baskets”- 10 AM on Wed., Feb. 24 and Thurs., Feb. 25. Delivery is scheduled for Sunday, Feb.28 at 10AM. This is one of our most important fundraising events for the Temple. Let us know if you can help. Call Sandy (764-5924). Thank you in advance for your help.

Purim is early this year!

Our Sisterhood has been invited to attend a VASHTI'S BANQUET! Interested in Celebrating Purim with the Sisterhood of Temple Beth-El in N. Bellmore? It will be held on Thurs. Feb. 25 at 7PM. For a donation of $15 if your a sisterhood member ($18 for non-members), you can partake in Israeli Food, an Israeli Jewelery Vendeor, Music, Belly Dancer and more. A flyer is attached for your convenience- reservations are needed by Feb. 18. Why not get a few friends together for a fun filled evening?

On Sunday, April 25th ,2010 at the Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center, Commack, NY from 11AM to 5PM, BQLI is hosting a very special program. The Topic is Autism in Today's Society. Our concentration will deal with how Autism affects us all. There will be several workshops pertaining to how we are all affected by Autism in our daily lives in our synagogues, religious & secular schools and in our home.We will learn how to effectively work together so that every child can succeed. The cost of attendance is $36. This includes lunch and admission to all workshops. More information will be forthcoming.

Get involved with our Sisterhood. You can make a difference! At this time, Sisterhood is in the process of setting up the following committees. If you feel you can help out (not much time is required if many people offer a little help), please call Maxine (379-7989). The committees: communication committee, new program committee, membership committee and phone chain committee. The fundraising committee is already being led by Sandy Friedman and Connie Salwen.
